Updated 07/28/2025 | Published 07/21/2025

Question:

When changing the landing gear, what is the recommended torque setting for the 2 bolts and nuts that hold the landing gear in place. Thank-you for your assistance. Tom

Hello again Tom. I'm sure you're referring to the bolts that run through brackets like # LC113511. These should be torqued to 10-18 ft-lbs. It is important to make sure you don't overdo it because you don't want to bend the brackets.

Hi Robin, Thanks for the reply and info. I very much appreciated it. FYI - I asked Lippert the same question and their response was 90 ft-lbs. of torque, which seemed to me very excessive. I like your answer and reasoning much better :) Thanks again for the help. Tom

@TomH I wonder if we were talking about two different things because this picture literally comes from Lippert.

@RobinH The picture you included is exactly what I was referring too. Lippert might have been confused, but I sent them a picture of the bolts I was referring too. Thanks again for your expert help. Tom
