Why Would Inserting Inner Arm of Roadmaster Falcon Tow Bar be Difficult After Cleaning
Updated 07/24/2025 | Published 07/19/2025 >
Question:
I am reassembling my Roadmaster Falcon tow bar after cleaning and I am having a very difficult time reinserting the bars into the channels. The bar goes in as far as the small end but will not slide through the small end. I have to drive it with a hammer so this tells me something is wrong. It should slide into that small end without much effort, correct? I tried some silicone lube but it did not help.

Hey Ken, can you take the inner arm out and roll it on a table and make sure it's not bent? If it's bent it should wobble a bit and be obvious which would indicate you'd need a new arm like what we have with the part # 910021-65. Let me know what you find and we can go from there.

No, it is not bent. I finally got it in by driving it with a hammer. Once it was past the threads, it was fine and slides in and out okay. Not sure why it was so hard though.
