Updated 08/07/2025 | Published 07/15/2025

Question:

Ok so maybe a crazy off the wall thought and question. Im installing an auxiliary fuel tank it fits perfect but the fuel port doesnt sit where i thought it would under my tonneau cover. its a quad fold vinyl cover. to fill my tank will require loosening the driver side and pushing it back. ive have searched and scoured for ideas i have a few but I have a few but I also dont have the funds to attempt and fail and have to buy another cover. do you all know of a way or a company that installs sealable ports into the cover?

Hey Tim, welcome back! I am sorry but I do not know of a company off the top of my head that does that but I can get you connected to our installer network in your area and you can reach out to them.

If you go to the product page of the Curt item # C53CR you purchased and scroll down below the pics on the left side you'll see a box that says, SCHEDULE AN INSTALLATION. Go ahead and click on it and it will take you to a page where you'll be able to enter your zip code. Once you do this you'll be connected to our network of reputable installers in your area.

What kind of cover do you have? If your modification idea doesn't work or costs too much, we do have tonneau covers that open at the cab along with the end of the bed. It's the TruXedo Deuce 2 Soft Tonneau Cover item # TX773301 for a 6-3/4' bed or item # TX772801 for an 8' bed.

Hey Tim, how's it going? Did you manage to find a solution for your tonneau cover issue with the fuel port? I'm curious if you were able to connect with an installer or if you considered the TruXedo Deuce 2 cover as an option. Let me know how it worked out for you, as it could really help others in a similar situation!
