Replacement Axle w/ Drop for an Old Trailer
Updated 08/07/2025 | Published 07/13/2025 >
Question:
I have an older trailer I am looking to try to lift it for additional ground clearance. I would like to try 4-6 if possible but as cheap as possible due to its age. Can I send pictures to get your thoughts?

Hey Scott. Go ahead and send any pics you have to the email address you receive this response from. What I'll need to know is the hub face measurement, spring center distance, what capacity axle you're wanting, and what lug nut pattern your wheels have.
The Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with 4" Drop E-Z Lube Spindles item # 7685269, you were looking at, measures 95" long has a spring-center-to-spring-center length of 80", and is a 3,500 lbs capacity axle without spindles.
You can add this information and any other questions you have where it says Reply to Jerred H and I'll be happy to answer them.
