Replacement Converter Charger for WFCO 55 Amp WF-9855

Updated 08/07/2025 | Published 07/12/2025

Question:

I currently have a WFCO 55AMP converter Model WF-9855 with a flooded lead acid battery. My voltage is dropping below 12V when under a load. I am having trouble finding the WFCO brand for replacement and would like to know my upgrade options. I am considering both the GoPower 75amp and the PD9360 part PD79RR? Would you recommend one of these or do you have another recommendation?

Hey Justin, I would recommend the Progressive Dynamics part # PD79RR which is close in amperage to what you have now and will work great. If you were to go to a 75 amp option you'd potentially run into issues with your current wiring not being rated for the additional amperage so unless you are wanting to upgrade that too I would stick with an amperage closer to what you have now like the # PD79RR which is rated for 60 amps.

Hey Justin, how did the Progressive Dynamics converter work out for you? I'm curious to know if it solved the voltage drop issue you were experiencing. Your feedback could really help others facing similar challenges!
