Where on Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System Should be Lubricated

Published 07/10/2025

Question:

Have a Equalizer 90-00-1000 Manual says to lubricate friction points. Should I disassemble to clean and lubricate all the arm socket surfaces or just clean and lub what is exposed? Thanks, Vic

Hey Vic, so the lubricant you need to use is the Equal-i-zer part # EQ91-00-4250 as otherwise if you use anything else you will completely eliminate the anti-sway function of the system as it does require friction.

Cleaning and then lubricating is a solid plan. If it's not too dirty then cleaning may not be as needed but it really comes down to the current condition. I attached a picture on where to lubricate but you can also lube the L-brackets where the bars attach and also the hitch ball.

My main question was: Do I disassemble so I lubricate the top and bottom plates of the head, or just the exposed surfaces?

@VicM I wouldn't disassemble it unless you feel it's necessary to really get it clean. I would say most of the time it's not necessary. Equal-i-zer doesn't have specific instructions on this so it's really up to you and the condition of everything.
