Perfect for use with weight-distribution systems, this high-performance lubricant helps to reduce noise and minimize wear and tear in your towing system. Apply to the hitch ball, head assembly or spring-bar sockets as needed.

Features:

  • Provides excellent lubrication for multiple towing applications
    • Apply to your hitch ball, weight-distribution head, spring-bar sockets or any other surface where friction can occur and that is designed to be lubricated
  • Reduces the noise that often occurs with steel-on-steel contact
  • Prolongs the life of your towing system
  • Resists corrosion, even in salt water
  • Works in high-temperature and extreme-pressure situations
  • Contains no heavy metals
  • Made in the USA

Note: Using lubricant on the sway-control brackets of the Equal-i-zer weight-distribution system may diminish the effectiveness of the integrated sway control. Because the Fastway e2 weight-distribution system has only two points of sway-controlling friction - within the L-brackets - using lubricant on those sway-control brackets is not recommended.

Is this a moly grease or a simple wheel bearing type grease

I checked with my contacts at Equal-i-zer and this is a white lithium grease based. So it is neither moly or bearing grease (tacky red). This is a general purpose grease that is rated for high temperature and pressure uses, but not necessarily the higher temperatures that bearing grease is rated for.

Equalizer hitch and ball. Easy installation except I needed to buy a socket to install the hitch ball elsewhere because e-trailer didnot carry. Overall very satified with e-trailer products.

by:

Great lube for my Equalizer hitch!

by:

Great product, recommended by the hitch manufacturer.

by:

I tried other lubricants on my Equalizer hitch, but this is the best. Definitely a better alternative.

by:

will use as directed

by:

Looks and feels like a good product. The proof will be in the pudding. Dumb me...I cut off the crimped end of one tube while opening envelope. You can't teach stupid!!

by:

I have assembled and adjusted the Equalizer system for my travel-trailer to SUV. I found the directions clear and concise. The hardware appears to be excellent. I had a question about my specific setup. I called both etrailer and the manufacturer. Both organizations were very responsive and the representatives were knowledgeable and helpful.I am very satisfied with my purchase at this point.

Just fine.Nothing is lacking.

by:

Jury is out so far. Desperate to eliminate some of the grinding and creaking of my equal-I-zer hitch. Dabbed some of this lubricant on, but didn't have the time to be too thorough. Sounds a little better already but hope a more thorough application will reduce the grinding to tolerable levels.

Use the lubricant before every other camping trip and it works great. Thanks,

by:

The primary delivery of our anti-sway system came quickly and intact but for one of the spring bars. I was not able to attend to this matter due to professional responsibilities. Calling the 800 number I was prepared for standard issue ineffectiveness replete with language and accent disorders. I was pleased to access Heather who is an American of same nature and understanding and we were able to gain a replacement spring bar that also came quickly. I thank etrailer and commend Heather on her efficiency and warm accord.

I was using a 2" shank with a reducer on my 2017 Ram 3500 with a 2 1/2" hitch. It had way too much play in it for me. Ordered an Equalizer 2 1/2" shank and it is much improved. Typical Equalizer quality. Tori was very friendly and knowledgeable and made ordering a pleasure. Great company!

by:

Was looking for some lube and extra parts for the hitch and thank goodness etrailer has them.

Getting ready to hitch up again and having this around for the start of the season helps out.

by:

it works well. just make sure you have a ball cover. the lube doesn't come of cloth's. I got 2 pairs of shorts lubed up before I put the cover on the ball. etrailer.com has the covers.

by:

Works well. Im sure there are others that do similar, but not knowing which I just bought this after my new hitch was squeeking. It works.

Also goid for your hitch ball, and to put on your leaf springs to all easier rotation of Torklift Stable loads.

by:

Great product. I bought a brand new equalizer hitch and first time out it was really noisy. When I got home all the paint was rubbed off, and within a couple weeks it was starting to show a little rust. This particular brand came highly recommended by a few different people, and some forums. After the first trip out after applying this grease it was completely silent, and really smooth. I only applied a little on the l-brackets, so it still has a little friction to reduce the sway. I would highly recommend this grease.

by:

Great product

by:

Item as described. Assuming it is better than plain grease.
etrailer did their part getting it to me as part of a larger order. Felt sorry for the UPS guy. One box had all the components to my new 1200/12000 equalizer hitch.

by:

There was a problem with the shipping of the original order. etrailer took care of it - customer service is fantastic! When all items eventually arrived, they were exactly what I needed.

by:

Great product. Use a lite coat on my bars & also to keep my hitch ball coated. A little goes a long way. Good size tube to carry in my RV tool bag.

by:

Equal - i -zer Lube is the best I have found for use on the anti-sway hitch parts. I always keep a tube or two handy and make sure the friction surfaces have a liberal application before each tow.

by:

Some sort of protectant lube is essential, but I really think any appropriate lube will do. The Equalizer brand isn’t required.

by:

using product on my weight distribution system, and ball
one thing its says -Do not use on Bars going to trailer

by:

Lubricant will be used on my equilizer hitch to prevent noise and prolong component life.

by:

Bought lithium lubricant tube for our Equalizer WD anti-sway hitch, it works great.

  • Recommended Weight Distribution System for Camping Trailer
The most important thing to know when selecting a weight distribution system is your total tongue weight, which is the tongue weight of your fully loaded trailer plus the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your 2016 Ram 1500. Your total tongue weight needs to be in the middle of the weight distribution system's tongue weight capacity in order for the system to work effectively. The Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37060ET has a tongue weight capacity between 200 lbs...

  • Trailer Hitch and Tow Capacity of 2018 Lexus RX 350
I Googled the owner's manual for a 2018 Lexus RX 350 and it said the maximum towing capacity was 3,500 lbs, and the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13272 has a 4,000 lb towing capacity so you will not have any problems using this hitch for towing less than the 3,000 lbs you mentioned. That said, we do recommend verifying all towing capacity information with vehicle manufacturers as they have the final say on these matters.

  • Solution to Make Equal-I-Zer Weight Distribution Less Noisy
Equal-i-zer systems are pretty noisy but they do offer a lubricant with the part # EQ91-00-4250 which was designed to cut the noise back a lot. Put it on the hitch ball, the spring bar sockets and the spring bar holders on the frame where they slide on.

  • Recommended Lubricant for Noisy Weight Distribution System
The Husky Center Line Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control # HT32218 will have some noise based on the metal on metal friction designed to control sway. If there is excessive noise, you can use the Equal-i-zer High-Performance Lubricant - 4 oz # EQ91-00-4250 which can be used on the hitch ball, the head and the bar sockets, but is not intended to be used on the bars and lift brackets because that would minimize the sway control aspect.

  • Ways To Reduce Noise From Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Hitch System
While the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37100ET does make a lot of noise they do offer some products to help keep the noise down. First you want to use the Equal-i-zer High-Performance Lubricant # EQ91-00-4250 on the lubrication points seen in the image below. Lube should also be used on the hitch ball to allow the coupler to more easily slide on the ball. • Reccomened Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System With Sway Control For 800 Pounds Of Tongue Weight
With a total tongue weight of approximately 760 lbs including the load behind the rear axle in your tow vehicle, I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control part # EQ37100ET. The Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System is designed to be used with a tongue weight rating between 600 and 1,000 lbs. Since you have identified your tongue rating will likely vary from 600 to 800 lbs, this will be a sufficient match for your needs. I consider Equal-i-zer products...

  • Recommendations for Reducing Noise On Fastway E2 Weight Distribution Hitch
The Equal-i-zer High-Performance Lubricant # EQ91-00-4250 can be added to the hitch ball and spring bar sockets on the hitch head of the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA92-00-0800 to reduce the amount of squealing you are experiencing. Be sure to not apply this to the sway bar brackets on the trailer, instead you can use the Sway Bracket Jackets # EQ95-01-5150. These nylon sleeves allow for the bars to move quietly and easily slide on the sway brackets.

All weight distribution systems are going to make some noise. Especially the ones that use "friction" as a sway control device like the E2 that you mentioned. • Can a Lubricant be Used With an Equalizer Weight Distribution Hitch?
There is a noise reduction lubricant available, the Equal-i-zer High-Performance Lubricant # EQ91-00-4250. This is designed to reduce the noise of their weight distribution systems, though you are correct that using the lubricant on the sway control brackets will hamper that ability, at least to a point. • What Lubrication Can I Use With My Equal-i-Zer WDS To Reduce Noise?

Additionally, Equal-i-Zer mentions that some noise can be heard from the arm sliding along the L brackets.
