I would like to put disc brakes on my camper. It has tandem 6,000 axles 12 brakes with 6 bolt wheels. What are your suggestions.

Hello Mike, thanks for reaching out. The best option for this will be to put electric over hydraulic (EOH) disc brakes on your camper. For a 6,000 lb axle, I recommend the following:
- Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 12" Hub/Rotor - 6 on 5-1/2 - Dacromet - 5,200 lbs to 6,000 lbs # K2HR526D
- Hydrastar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Kit for Disc Brakes - 1,600 psi # HBA16-252-82
The disc brake kit uses the # 25580 inner and # 15123 outer bearings. The seal is a 2.250" ID. This is standard for a 6,000 lb axle but please confirm this matches you trailer. You will need one disc brake kit per axle. Then The actuator kit comes with everything else needed like the actuator, brake lines and breakaway.
The only other thing you will need is a brake controller for your tow vehicle that is compatible with EOH brakes. For that I recommend the Tekonsha P3 # 90195. It has a mode for EOH brakes you can switch to.
I have provided a link to our guide on installing EOH brakes. You will also find a link to an install video.
What kind of camper do you have? Just curious.
