Brad Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Organized Obie bungee cord door holder for pocket doors on your RV. Now, pocket doors are really nice on RVs because they store out of the way and you can close the door without having to swing it and that's gonna cause your walkway to be a little bit smaller, so it slides out of the way. But with that, as you're driving down the road, it can also open and close. So that's why you generally have a strap attached from the factory, something like this. And you might have seen these, but over time, if you use it a lot, these can kind of get to the point where it doesn't really snap in place anymore. Or even if this cracks just over time, it might be time to replace it.
And this is a nice style with a bungee-style application. And then way you can kind of just unlatch this here and it allows you to open and close nice and easy. And then when you're ready to hit the road, you can just simply pull this back and that goes in place. Now this isn't just for pocket doors, it's marine grade here, so that way you can mount it on your boat doors or even your outside storage compartments. The bungee cord is nylon infused, so it's gonna hold up to the jostling that may happen when you're cruising down the road in your RV.
Now this is a two-piece design. You can see our J-hook here, that just drills into place and it's nice that they give you this little strap that's gonna allow you to pull on that bungee and make it nice and easy. That way you don't have to use your fingers to kind of pry that up. It is pretty robust, so I can put a decent amount of force here with that strap. It does make it nice and easy.
The other side just simply screws in as well. And you can really mount this however you want or really for any application, you do have a 2 1/2 inch span on that bungee. So just whichever way you mount it, just test fit it before drilling in. Now it does come with the screws to drill into place, but we actually replaced the old strap and they had larger diameter screws so we just found a few larger ones here in the shop. So whatever works as far as mounting up and once you have it drilled in place, you're ready to go.

works great had a door open during travel more then once and the catch the slide, It wont happen again. I did use black nail polish to color in the screw heads so they matched suppose you could use a black sharpie pen as well either way works great.
These are great to keep doors where they should stay during transport.
I like theses to hold the doors on my trailer closed when we travel.

It was my understanding that this bungee was 4 1/4" relaxed and over 6" extended. The package received is a 3 1/4" loop. Had the same problem with a vendor on Amazon (twice). I now have three of these things that don't fit. I give up!

These are too short. The ones on my coach are 5.5” long. I cannot make these work

These little bungees should do the trick in keeping my bedroom door from jumping off its track. The look of these is very compatible with the existing door bungees. Took off one star due to 15 day shipping time (international order).

This was a hard to find item to replace one that had broken on my RV. I am very pleased to find that etrailer carries it. Thank you very much.
Love these simple bungee cord style door hardware piece. Has been a lifesaver 2nd set of safety straps to prevent expensive replacement of the RV sliding doors. So glad I found this after I had to replace the OEM doors that were installed without adequate holding hardware.

it has been a door and frustration saver the oem solutions are not strong enough and fail when on the road bouncing occurs. These are so much better!
One year later and this is still working great! Holds the door securely in place while traveling and shows no sign of wear. Perfect replacement for the nylon webbing style strap.
Best door holders. Other holders didn’t do the job. This one is strong and holds the door perfectly.

Work well, better manufactured than the OEM door holders.
Only con is I ordered a tad too short, but I made them work.

I installed the second door holder within the last week, after making a repair on the other sliding door of my RV. As stated in my first review, I ordered a tad short, but I made them work. The first one I installed a year ago is keeping the sliding door firmly in place on travel days, which says a lot when it seems every highway is either under construction, or is in desperate need.

these are easy to install and work wonderfully. I have a couple doors that wiggle too much after they are secured and this option stretches so I can roll up a wash cloth and wrap the cord around it to keep the door more secure. it doesnt jump on the rail when traveling.
