What Dexter Brakes and Hubs do I Need for My 3,900 Pound Torflex Axle on 2020 Lance Camper?

Updated 09/30/2025 | Published 06/05/2025

Question:

Are these also for the 3,900 lb axles Dexter has on a 2020 Lance? I believe the Torflex axles? If not, what would be the brake kit for those? Also curious what part number the hub-drum kit would be?

Hello Matthew,

It would be nice if they could just stick with the basics like 2k, 3,500K, 5,200K and so on.

Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brakes - 10" - Left/Right Hand Assemblies - 4.4K # K23-478-479 are the right brakes for your application.

For hubs you can go with the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 3,500-lb Axles - 10" Diameter - 5 on 4-1/2 # 84546UC3, or if you wanted to save a couple of bucks our etrailer hubs # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K.

Getting things ready for your next big adventure? If so, where are you headed?

Hey Matthew, did the Dexter brakes and hub assembly work out for your Lance? I'd love to hear how it went, as it could help others with similar setups.

@KateF , thanks for the follow up. I actually reached out to Dexter directly while waiting for a reply from you originally, and they gave me different information. Specifically: Brake 1 - 023-478-00 Brake 2 - 023-479-00 Essentially what I believe to be the 4400 lb axle hardware. Brake 1 is what they labeled it, but that is left, and Brake 2 is right.

@MatthewR Thanks for the reply Matthew, I changed my answer =) The 4,400 pound axles are not the most common, sometimes they require 3,500 pound parts. I really do appreciate the feedback.
