How to Tighten Fastway Ball Mount Hitch Balls

Updated 09/22/2025 | Published 05/22/2025

Question:

I have an aluminum fastway hitch that the balls have become loose in the fixture. Is there a way to tighten them back up?

Hi Steve; there should be an adjustment bolt on the ball platform that looks like the picture below. You will need a 5/16" Allen wrench to tighten it up and secure the hitch balls.

Hey Steve, did tightening the adjustment bolt with the Allen wrench fix the issue with your hitch balls? I'm asking because your experience could really help others with similar problems.

@RobinHi can’t find the adjustment bolt on my hitch. Do I have to remove anything?

@SteveJ you have to remove the balls from the shank and it will be on the back.
