Will Equal-i-zer WDH Work With 2021 Ford F-150 Towing 2025 Winnebago Micro Minnie 1800BH

Updated 09/12/2025 | Published 05/16/2025

Question:

I’ve purchased a 2025 Winnebago Micro Minnie 1800bh, GVWR 5,500, hitch weight 375, dual axle. My tow vehicle is a 2021 Ford F-150 3.5L Ecoboost 4x4 SuperCrew w/ Max Towing Package. I’ve been advised that this setup would benefit from this particular weight distribution hitch but then also that this WDH shouldn’t be used on the BAL/Norco huckbolted trailer frame. Advice?

Hey Michael! The # EQ37100ET is designed best for a 600-1,000 lb tongue weight range. Based on the weight of that trailer you may be better off with the # EQ37060ET for 200-600 lbs of tongue weight. Tongue weight is typically 10-15% of the loaded trailer weight so you're right in the middle potentially. Realistically it would be best to measure with a scale like the # BTBRV27FR to be sure. Also, the weight of anything you're carrying behind the rear axle in your truck counts as trailer weight so you'll want to factor that in.

As far as the frame is concerned, the manufacturer has the final say on anything like that. I would reach out to Winnebago directly to see if the frame has any kind of weight distribution restrictions. If they say it is fine you're good to go. If not, you will have to consider alternatives like electronic sway control or suspension enhancement depending on what you're wanting to do. If you find that is the only option feel free to reply below and we can see what other solutions are available.

Hey Michael, did you have a chance to check with Winnebago about any weight distribution restrictions on your trailer frame? If you're still looking for a solution, I'm happy to help.
