Hello Carolyn,
On the Convert-A-Ball Multi-Cushioned Gooseneck Trailer Coupler - Round - 30,000 lbs # CG, from the center of the ball to the farthest corner of the little red handle is 6-3/4 inches, so the recessed box needs to be 14 inches square and flat at the bottom to work.
What does yours measure?

Thank you for replying Kate. Wouldn't you know my recessed box is 13.9". It's so close that I decided to take a chance and told them to ship it anyway. If I can't find a way to "SQUEEZZE" it in, then I guess I will just have to pay return shipping and look for an alternative. I'll let you know what happens!
