Why Doesn't Convert-A-Ball Multi-Cushioned Gooseneck Trailer Coupler # CG Have Mounting Screws

Question:

Why doesnt the covert a ball have holes to pin and secure it? The hitches that are in have a set of holes to adjust the height and secure it. This is just a solid pipe.

The Convert-A-Ball Multi-Cushioned Gooseneck Trailer Coupler # CG that you referenced is an inner tube portion of a gooseneck hitch. The outer tube would have the set screws that secure it in place. I attached a picture that shows it installed for you to check out as well.

Why doesn't this coupler require a through pin to connect it to the outer tube? Every other coupler does rrequire a through pin.

The Convert-A-Ball Coupler # CG is designed to attach from just the tension that the outer coupler bolt provides when torqued down properly. This allows for much finer vertical adjustments (since you don't have to relay on set mounting holes).
