Question:
Im considering buying a Curt friction type sway control for my ORC Off Road Camper equipped with a McHitch trailer hitch. Im confused as to where the sway control mounts on the trailer tongue. I know with a regular ball type it mounts 24 back from the center of the ball mount. But where do you measure from with the McHitch? Im thinking from the center of the u-joint on the trailer hitch. This would be the centerline of where the trailer would rotate on the hitch equivalent to the centerline of the ball. Thank you! Dave

Hello David,
The Curt Friction Sway Control for Weight Distribution Systems # 17200 installs 24" from the center of the coupler to the trailer frame. I attached an image for reference.
I recommend pairing it with the rocker ball, the Curt RockerBall 2-5/16" Shock Absorbing Hitch Ball and Ball Mount w/ Sway Control Tab - 7.5K # C45WR.
What kind of trailer are you pulling that you are trying to help with the sway?

The McHitch is a different type of hitch. The instructions you supplied are for a ball type mount, which is a totally different type of system.
