Sway Control Option For 2025 Volvo XC90 Towing Airstream Trailer

Hello, I hope you can help with two questions. I’m looking at buying a 2024 Airstream caravel 19. Tow vehicle is Volvo xc90 2025. Standard hitch ball on Volvo is 2 inches. Apparently Volvo warns against using a weight distribution system. My questions are a can i get a sway control system for the Volvo? So a system that helps with sway but is not a weight distribution system b best solution for using a 2 5/16 inch ball?

Hello Brian, thanks for reaching out. You are correct that it is not recommended to use a weight distribution hitch on a 2025 Volvo XC90. This is because the XC90 has a unibody frame. This means it cannot handle the stress of a weight distribution system. Doing so could cause non-warranty damage to your vehicle. If want sway control like most WDH's have you could use something like the Curt True Course Advanced Bluetooth Trailer Sway Control # C94VV. However, I would make sure this won't interfere with any factory sway control on your Volvo.
