Dimensions for Curt Class I Trailer Hitch # C12005

Updated 09/27/2025 | Published 04/21/2025

Question:

Looking for the dimensions of this hitch inner and outer bolt center and rear of the hitch to bolt centers. Im looking for possible mounting on a 1977 Nova. Many chevys in this time frame are very close in size.

Hey Paul!

Awesome, awesome ride...

So I went out to our warehouse to take those measurements on the Curt Class I Hitch # C12005. The outer mounting bolts measured 54-1/2" apart, on center, while the inner bolts measured 50-1/2" apart, on center. From the center of the rear mounting hole to the front mounting hole, I measured a distance of 13-3/4". The rear mounting holes are spaced apart by 52-1/2", center to center.

I attached a diagram I made to clarify those dimensions as well.

I hope it fits! What do you plan on hauling with it?

Hey Paul, Did the Curt Class I Hitch fit your 1977 Nova? I'd love to know how it worked out for you, as it could help others with similar classic rides.

@ChrisR No. This won't fit. It is smaller then needed for the Nova.

@PaulS Shoot. What are you looking to use the hitch for?

@ChrisR As an older person I'm needing it to hall a rack for a mobility scooter or Possibly a small trailer. Nothing super heavy. Was looking to see if there was a pre-made hitch before I had one made.
