Updated 04/10/2025 | Published 04/09/2025

Question:

IJust purchased a used 2018 Jayco Alante 31V with 11,000 miles. I feel I need to do some upgrades in the handling dept. My questions are, Should i install a correct center steering damper first or do recommend sway bars first. I know all 3 will make the best improvement but what will improvement will be the most noticeable riht of way?

Hello David, thanks for reaching out. In these cases generally what I advise is try the sway bars first, then add the steering stabilizer if needed. You can do all 3 at once but typically the sway bars would give you the most noticeable results. A lot of folks are happy with just the sway bars, but if you want to improve handling and tracking even more the stabilizer can help. Here is what I recommend for your 2018 Jayco Alante 31V, in order of what I recommend installing first:

- Roadmaster Front Anti-Sway Bar - 1-3/4" Diameter # RM-1139-148

- Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar - 1-1/2" Diameter # RM-1139-146

- Roadmaster Exact Center Steering Stabilizer w/ Custom Brackets for Class A Motorhomes # RM33RR

Thank you for getting back with me. I'll be starting with the front sway bar and go from there. Best regards, David Cox
