I have a 1996 Prowler, 5200. What size tongue jack do I need. This is our first camper so we are new to this. Thank you in advance.

Hey John, thanks for reaching out!

If your Prowler has a GVWR of 5,200 lbs then most jacks will work great with it. I recommend picking up an electric jack to make setup and tear down quicker and easier. Here are my 2 picks depending on how comfortable you are with messing with wiring:

- etrailer Electric Trailer Jack # e23ZV (hardwire)
- Trailer Valet Essentials Electric Jack # TV63FR (7-Way plug)

The etrailer brand will need to be wired to a battery on your trailer, while the Trailer Valet will plug into the 7-Way on the back of your tow vehicle.

If you'd rather stick with a manually operated jack, the etrailer # TJA-5000S-B is a great option and gives you the ability to add a Drop Leg # JF-1005H-Z. or a Caster Wheel # JC-101 depending on how you want to use it.

Let me know if you have any other questions or if there is anything else you're needing to upgrade! I'm excited to hear you all are getting into camping, but I also know it can be really overwhelming. We're here to help!

Hey John, how did things go with the electric jack for your Prowler? Did the setup make hitching and leveling easier on your first few trips? Your update could make it easier for other new campers choosing their first jack.
