Question:
I recently purchased and received from Etrailer, a set of new Dexter Hubs and drums for my 4.000 lbs. axle travel trailer and I am getting ready to install them. Since I cannot fit my torque wrench onto the mounting bolts due to the bolts close proximity to the axle, should I tighten the bolts as much as I can by hand and then use the blue thread sealant on the brake plate bolts when attaching it to the axle plate?

Hey Don welcome back! I wouldn't go that route with treadlocker like item # LT37614 to install the Dexter Electric Trailer Brakes item # K23-462-463-00 you purchased. I recommend purchasing a socket extension so you get the bolts torqued on to the required specs.

Hey Don, how did things go once you used the socket extension to torque the brake plate bolts on your trailer? Your update could make it easier for the next person working with Dexter hubs and brakes in a tight space.
