What Fuse Does the Blue Ox Fuse Bypass Replace On a 1997 Jeep Wrangler
Updated 10/27/2025 | Published 03/20/2025 >
Question:
Where does this install on a 1997 Jeep Wrangler? In the Blue Ox instructions, it just says A 10AMP Fuse in the fuse panel behind the glovebox without specifying which specific fuse.

Hey Matt, I checked around a bit and it looks like to install the Blue Ox Fuse Bypass Switch # BX88272 on your '97 Jeep Wrangler you need to remove the tow fuse - which is highlighted in the attached picture and replace it with # BX88272.
This fuse should be the number 20 fuse, which is a 15A fuse, on the interior by the passenger side.
Let me know in the comments if you have any other questions, and Id be happy to help!

Hey Matt, how did things go with installing the Blue Ox fuse bypass switch on your Wrangler? Did replacing the number 20 fuse with the bypass switch work as expected? Your update could make it easier for the next person setting up the same system.
