Solution for Replacement Breakaway for Discontinued Hopkins Brake Buddy

Question:

I have a Hopkins Brake Buddy model 39503 - I need a Break-Away system for it the Hopkins part is 39327 - However, that part appears to be discontinued. Do you have a replacement for any suggestions??? -Thank you

Hey Frank! Hopkins is completely gone now so the original breakaway is no longer available. If you still have the original barrel plug wiring harness, you can splice in the Fastway Zip Trailer Breakaway Switch # FA80-00-2060 and reuse your existing connector.

The Fastway switch is a standard two-wire breakaway switch so it can be used as a replacement as long as you still have that barrel plug for the Brake Buddy. If you no longer have that wiring, you would have to try to find the old 39327 but I don't think any are left. Those parts went pretty quick once Hopkins closed their doors for good.
