Troubleshooting a Stromberg Carlson Trailer Jack # JET-3500 that Was Stuck with Blown Fuse
Published 06/13/2014 >
Question:
My jack wouldnt extend even though it had power...then the fuse blew. When I placed the crank handle in the slot to crank up the jack, it was had to start turning. It seemed to be in a bind. It broke loose and turned freely after some effort. Could this have caused the motor problem...thus blowing the fuse

What is probably occurring on your jack is that it has been extended too far at some point and has become stuck. Trying to move it in either direction draws too much power as the motor tries to push the leg free. This cause the fuse to blow.
What many electric jack manufacturers will do is to smash or otherwise distort the end of the screw that turns to move the leg up and down to prevent it from extending to far. If it does end up extending too far the threads will become permanently cross-threaded and it will never work right again. Since you were able to free the jack the threads may not be permanently damaged.
I would try replacing the fuse to see if it will function like normal.
