Good question Joel.

I couldn't find that measurement anywhere so I grabbed one and measured it. This will take a lock with a 5/8" diameter and at least 2-1/4" of useable space. I added a quick, though quite crude, picture below showing what I mean.

If you didn't have a lock you were already looking at, I think the Fastway # FA86-00-3050 would be a very good option. It meets the 5/8" requirement and actually has 2-13/16" of useable space, so it will fit perfectly. There are a few less expensive options, but they use a tube to adapt it to fit the larger 5/8" hole (see part # TS24VR as an example) and I don't think you would be happy with it.

If you have any other questions or need further assistance, let me know in the comments below. And just as a side note, we don't have many pictures of this ball mount from people who have bought them, so if you wanted to snap a few and send them over, it would be greatly appreciated : )

Hey Joel, how did the 5/8-inch lock work out with your adjustable ball mount? Your update could make it easier for the next person trying to find the right fit.
