Question:

I have a customer that has a Curt pin box M2021102973-RA on his 5th wheel and he wants to have a reese goose box installed. The problem we are running into is the bolt pattern. The Gen-Y box pictured below is the correct bolting pattern. Please help

Hey Taylor! It looks like you're referring to the Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box - Lippert Turning Point # GY48GR. That indicates that the Curt pin box on the 5th wheel has a Lippert Turning point bolt pattern. Unfortunately, the Reese Goose Box does not have a configuration that can fit the Turning Point making the Gen-Y one of two possible options.

I'm not sure what trailer it is but, if you take the GVWR x 0.22 it should be 1,600-2,599 lbs to make sure the shock absorption of the Gen-Y works correctly. If they don't want to go with the Gen-Y the other option is the Shocker Hitch Quick Air Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Pin Box - Lippert Turning Point - 24K # SHK47YR.

Hey Taylor, how did things go with the Gen-Y pin box on your customer’s 5th wheel? Did the bolt pattern and weight range work out as expected? Your update could make it easier for others facing the same fit issue.
