2016 Chevrolet Colorado LT 4WD Can you recommend a parts list for a flat tow setup? I will need the battery disconnect and the battery charger as well. I also will need the emergency braking system but I will not need the continuous brake I am towing behind a semi so braking wont be an issue.

Hello Brian, thanks for reaching out. We have everything you need to set your 2016 Chevy Colorado up for flat towing. I will do a full list of parts followed by a few important notes on your Colorado. Here is what I recommend:

- Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles - 7-Way to 6-Way Coiled Adapter Cord # RM-15267
- Roadmaster Battery Disconnect for Towed Vehicle w/ Flat Tow Brake System - Gas Only # RM-766
- Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes - Proportional # SM99251
- Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25
For the base plate, the factory tow hooks will be permanently removed if present. The battery disconnect is a requirement, and the one I mentioned above is for gas models only. Diesel models use # RM93MR instead. The charge line can be run thru the 6-pin plug on the front of the truck.
For the braking system, most states require a fully proportional braking system by law. Everything we offer will be a full proportional braking system. I understand you are towing with a semi so you may not even feel the truck back there. From a legality and safety standpoint, we strongly recommend using a full proportional system. It is also better for our truck. The best option for that is the Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo. It installs permanently on the vehicle and gives you super smooth braking. The video below will show you more details, as well as an example of installation.
Lastly, you may need a drop hitch such as part # BLU28XR to compensate for any height differences between the base plate arms and the hitch on your motorhome. Any difference of more than 3" requires a drop hitch. Also keeping in mind the tow bar has 2" of rise or drop built into the shank, depending on how it is configured.
Also, I highly recommend getting a cover # e76FV and hitch lock # e98881 to protect your tow bar.
