Hey Brent, thanks for reaching out!

I really hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you won't be able to safely use the rotating turret part of the Reese Sidewinder pin box with the B&W Companion # BWRVK3500 that fits into the B&W Gooseneck receiver. The stress that will be put on that single attachment point will cause it to fail and we don't want to go down that path. For safety, you'll need to keep the Sidewinder pin box locked out, so it works like a standard pin box.

We have a few alternatives that offer some extra clearance, like using the sliding Companion # BWRVK3400 or swapping to a gooseneck pin box and using an offset gooseneck hitch ball, but in order to use the turret part of the Sidewinder, you'll need to swap to a pin box that anchors at 4-points.

Let me know what sounds more appealing to you in the comment section below and I'd be more than happy to help you find the perfect solution for safe towing!

Thank you , kinda what I thought …I do have a Reese gooseneck pin box that had the air bag .. I could put in it ! I wonder with the off set ball if that give me enough clearance with ram box’s …

@Brent RamBoxes throw a whole other wrench into the mix. Since you have a much more narrow space for your pin box to rotate you'll need to use the Sidewinder like you initially were looking into. What is the year/make/model of your truck? I can recommend an alternative base system that will then allow you to use a hitch that works with the Sidewinder for clearance.

@JonG My truck is a 2024 ram 2500 longhorn 6 1/2 bed with ram boxes.. I’ve seen a few ppl use the Anderson hitch and turn the coupler 180 degrees and it work fine are the pull right super light hitch … I already have the B&W turn over ball installed. I may have to spend a few $$$ but maybe best thing would be install ram factory puck system then buy and hitch to fit the puck and then buy the sidewinder pin box…

@Brent If money isn't a factor then yes, having the factory puck system installed in place of the B&W gooseneck would be best scenario, and then you can use the Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C16044 (cousin to the Mopar 5th wheel hitch) and the Wedge # C27NR with the Sidewinder pin box. I'm skeptical of the Andersen Ultimate Connection # AN67VR giving enough clearance, but if others have made it work then feel free to go for it if you like.
