Question:
Hi there, I have a 2022 Arctic Fox model 25W, tandem 5000lb axles6lug with 225/75R15 tires. I measured the axles center to center at 35, the stock equalizer is a Dexter component, it measures 4inch in height from center of hanger bolt to center of shackle bolt, and 6inch in width from center of shackle bolt to center of shackle bolt. When looking up equalizer upgrade parts for a 35inch wheelbase, most equalizer upgrade components are 8inch center to center for the shackle bolts and 4inch in height for the hanger bolt. However, when looking up parts for 33inch wheelbase, those upgrade components more closely match the dimensions of the factory dexter equalizer, 6inch wide but only 3inch in height in terms of center to center of bolt holes. Do I go with parts for the 35inch wheelbase, or parts that more closely match the factory equalizer, which in this case are parts for a 33inch wheelbase? MR89DR??? Thanks in advance.

Expert Reply:
Hey Frank, when you go to choose the correct equalizer kit you will want to match the equalizers not the wheelbase. So since you mentioned the 33" wheelbase # MR89DR version most closely fits your current equalizers, that's the one you're going to want to use.

Hello I had a local shop purchased from e trailer the Morryde All Treck 4000. Did the 33” wheel base one since it closely matched the closest my existing Dexter 13-10 equalizer even though my wheel space when started was 35” My question when he went to install with the original Leaf springs witch are 26” long eye to eye. The issue he ran into the leaf springs with the weight on it bottomed out against the new All Treck 4000. To resolve this he install new leaf springs 25-1/4 eye to eye. And it looks ok but is this the correct fix do I need to be concerned with anything happening in the future or a safety issue Thank you in advance Dan
