Hello, and thanks for getting in touch. The etrailer Electric Trailer Jacks # e55ZV and # e23ZV will hold up just fine in cold weather. The housing is designed to be water/weather resistant. It even has a manual backup option if you were to lose power for some reason. The jack actually includes a vinyl cover that goes over the motor and housing. Keeping this cover on the jack as often as possible will undoubtedly increase the lifespan. While I don't necessarily recommend it, I have heard of people leaving the cover on the jack while they tow. This can be a little risky though. I would hate for your cover to go missing if you catch my meaning. Overall this jack is a solid choice for any climate, and it will do fine in the cold.
