Hello Dan,

To get an accurate reading I would be no more than 2 degrees while using the Big Truck Big RV Tongue Weight Scale w/ Storage Bag for Trailers - 2,000 lbs # BTBRV44FR. The main reason you don't want to go over 2 degrees is because of weight distribution; If the ground is uneven, the trailer may shift slightly which will result in you not getting an accurate.

What are you trying to get an accurate reading on, and what for?

I have a travel trailer with a 7,000 lb GVWR, I live in the country and don’t have any perfectly level ground to get the accurate reading.

@Dan Typically your tongue weight is going to be 10-15% of your GVWR, with yours being 7K it should fall between 700 and 1,050 lbs. What are you needing the Tongue Weight for? Just trying to see if I can help without a fully accurate reading.
