I have a patriot 18k slider hitch and recently bought a 2022 f450 with the 8 foot bed. Do they make an adapter from rail to puck system for my truck

Hey Kevin,
Unfortunately due to the design of the Patriot's # BWRVK3270 slider base it's incompatible with adapters. The crossmember (seen below) sits lower than the rails and would compete for the same space as the center of the adapters. You have two options going forward:
Option 1: You replace the slider base of your Patriot with the fixed base # BWRVB3255 and then use an adapter like the Curt # C88KR to mount the hitch to your factory puck system. Since you have an 8' bed you won't need the slider base for additional turning clearance any way.
Option 2: You swap out the hitch completely with one like the B&W Companion OEM 5th-Wheel Hitch for Ford Super Duty Prep Package # BWRVK3300. This is obviously more pricey to do but would eliminate the need for an adapter and would give you a better 5th wheel hitch overall, while taking up less space in the bed.
Let me know what you think and we can look at some other options if needed.

Hey Kevin, how did things turn out with your 5th-wheel setup on the F-450? Did you end up switching to the fixed base or going with the Companion hitch for the factory puck system? Your update could make it easier for others upgrading from a rail system.
