Hey Ronnie,
The best gooseneck hitch for your 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500 is the B&W Turnoverball # BWGNRK1059. There are a few different options that fit your truck, but the B&W is hands-down the best aftermarket option because you can completely remove the hitch ball or even store it upside down in the receiver, so you have a completely clean and clear truck bed when you need it.
Something else to think about is adding a 7-Way socket into the bed of your truck to make it easier to connect your trailer wiring. For this we have the Hopkins Endurance Wiring # 41157 which simply tees in behind the 7-Way on your bumper and then you make a cutout for the socket in your truck bed.
Attached are a few videos to give you an idea of what is entailed in both installations.

Hey Ronnie, how did the B&W Turnoverball hitch work out on your Silverado 1500? Did the removable ball setup give you the clear bed space you were looking for? Your update could make it easier for others choosing a gooseneck hitch for the same truck.
