Hey Larry,

We typically run into this issue with Jeeps, but it can still happen with other brands/models from time to time. Essentially, when you're switching the transfer case into neutral the gears aren't perfectly lining up so when you shift the transmission the gears still aren't lined perfectly and are catching, causing the grinding noise. When this happens you'll want to get out and push on the front or back of the Canyon to slightly roll it back and forth to help push the gears into place. You'd still have your parking brake so the wheels won't really roll but should kind of rock back and forth.

Try giving the Canyon a gentle push 2-3 times and then try shifting the transmission into park and see if the gears are still grinding.

Good afternoon, I recently set my 2024 canyon up for flat tow and experiencing these same issues. I have read a few fours where guys will shut the truck off into ACC mode then shift into park. Have you seen anyone doing that, or any concerns I should be worried about if doing athat? Thanks!
