Troubleshooting Fuses Blowing on 2023 Entegra Odyssey Class C Motorhome Towing Jeep Wrangler Sport
Updated 12/22/2024 | Published 12/07/2024 >
Question:
I have a 2023 Entegra Odyssey Class C motor home that I tow my 2020 Jeep Wrangler Sport S with. I installed the RM-154 universal wiring kit on my Jeep and it worked great! Later, I installed this kit on my Jeep to allow me to hook up and pull a separate trailer for those times when I need to pick up large items, etc from Lowes or Home Depot. This setup also worked great! We are having trouble blowing fuses in the motor home when towing our jeep, and I want to rule out these installed kits as being the culprit. Provided both kits are installed properly, is there any thing that you can see about using this kit and the RM-154 kit? Any recommendations on how or what I should test these connections to rule out this ass being the cause?

Hi Bruce; more than likely you can rule this out as the issue. The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118786 has the ModuLite Power Module which draws power from the vehicle battery so it won't be overloading any circuits on the motorhome that would blow a fuse. If you didn't have a powered module I could see it being a problem but that isn't the case here.
I'm assuming you didn't start blowing fuses until you installed the trailer wiring which is why you're looking at it as a potential issue. Just to be sure, I would hook everything up and test it. First, test the power on the tow bar wiring with just the vehicle. Then hook up the trailer and check again to see if it is pulling too much power.

Robin, Thanks for the timely response. Thanks for confirming my suspicions with respect to the wiring installs on the Jeep as not being the cause of blown fuses on the motor home. Further, just to clarify, there is no scenario where I would have the Jeep in tow behind the RV with a trailer in tow behind the Jeep itself.
