Parts Needed For Brake Controller Installation On a 2021 Ford E-450 Cutaway Chassis For Class C RV

Question:

Can anyone tell me if my 2021 Class C motorhome E-450 is pre-wired for a brake controller? I just bought it and intend to tow with it it has a hitch and is wired with 7-way plug. However, it hasnt had a brake controller installed. I had heard that some RVs are pre-wired for electric brakes. Is there any way to tell?

To verify if your 2021 Ford E-450 cutaway chassis for your Class C motorhome is pre-wired for a brake controller you will need to remove the storage slot in the top of your dash. I have included a install video below that shows how to remove the storage tray to access the connector at the 16:30 time in the video.

With the factory connector you can use the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter # 3034-P to install the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Brake Controller # RED63RR. This will allow you to add the controller high on the dash rather than having to route the harness down through the dash like they did when installing the Tekonsha P3 # 90195 in the video.
