Recommended Ladder Rack for a 2019 Toyota Tacoma w/ a 6' Bed

Hello, Im interested in purchasing a Thule TracRac SR Sliding Truck Ladder rack for my husbands work vehicle, a 2019 Toyota Tacoma with a 6ft bed. Could you tell me what system would fit this truck, including the base rails? I confess Im not ladder-rack savvy. The racks would be used for 3-4 aluminum extension ladders. Thanks for your help!

Hey Lisa! We've got several Thule ladder racks that work with the 2019 Toyota Tacoma but there isn't a sliding ladder rack like the TracRac SR available for it. Thule hasn't made one for the Tacoma's for quite a few years now due to the composite beds. Instead, I recommend the Thule TracRac TracONE Ladder Rack item # TH27000XT-XK4 in Sliver or item # TH27000XTB-XK4B in Black.

I really like Thule's ladder racks because they have a no drill installation and a 800 lbs capacity. The system attaches to the side of your bed rails using screw down clamps like you would use to attach a camper shell. Each upright is held on by two.

The slotted crossbars accept a wide variety of accessories and the system includes four aluminum load stops. These heavy-duty load stops will allow you to safely secure all of your 2X4's, PVC, and tools when headed to and from the jobsite.

Hey Lisa, how did the Thule TracRac TracONE work out on your husband’s Tacoma? I’m curious if the no-drill clamps and load stops made it easy to secure the ladders. Your update could make it easier for others choosing a rack for the same truck.

@JerredH Hi Jerrod! It’s working great. Very easy to install, and to remove of necessary. Not only does it work for his ladders, but we use it to secure our kayaks, too! Because my husband rarely does ladder work during the winter, he’s looking into a tonneau cover for the winter months. If you have any suggestions, let me know. Thank you so much! Lisa

@LisaC I am really happy to hear that! Those ladder racks are so versatile. The Thule Xsporter Pro Ladder Rack item # TH500XT-XK4 is not going to be compatible with a tonneau cover though. The clamps that hold the uprights on block the rails needed for the covers. I would be happy to recommend a cover but the ladder rack would need to be removed while you use it. If this is something you're willing to do, I would just need some more information on what style of cover you're interested in. For your 2018 Toyota Tacoma Access cab with the deck rail the Thule TracRac TracONE kit you need is the part #TH27000XTB-XK4B which comes with the correct adapters you'd need. You wouldn't need to also separately provide any adapter.
