This fixed mount ladder rack is built for serious work and play, with a carrying capacity of 800 lbs. Whether you’re hauling ladders, lumber, pipe, or kayaks, the wide base design on each upright keeps everything stable and secure. The 26-1/4" upright height gives enough room over the bed for long materials or paddle gear without crowding the space below.
The rack is made from lightweight, rustproof 6000-series aluminum, so it won’t corrode even after years of use. A silver dual-stage powder coat—first an e-coat, then a clear topcoat—adds extra protection against scratches and weathering. You get strong, durable construction that holds up through every season without adding unnecessary weight.
Installation is quick and clean thanks to the included clamp kit—no drilling required. Each base mounts with two heavy-duty aluminum clamps that grab onto the factory track system for a rock-solid connection. Just torque down the clamps, and the rack is ready to use. The mounts also include pre-drilled points for adding a crossover-style toolbox, so there’s no need to drill into the bed rails.
The 65" long crossbars feature top and bottom mounting slots for tie-downs and accessories, giving you flexibility to secure all kinds of cargo. Four heavy-duty aluminum load stops are included and slide within the slots for fast adjustment. Built-in airfoil strips at the front of each bar help cut down on wind noise while you drive.
Elliptical crossbars with integrated trip strips smooth airflow across the rack, minimizing wind resistance and noise. The result is a rack that stays quiet on the road while maintaining the strength and rigidity you need for demanding loads.

I love this ladder rack so much I originally bought in 2019 when I started my business. Just recently it got damaged due to someone hitting my ladders/rack I was very upset but luckily I was able to buy the exact same rack!! Best rack ever!!
Best rack on the market, and I’ve owned many! This is my second set of TracRac ladder rack systems. The first in 2006, and it was still going strong until I sold the truck with the rack on it, and now this one I purchased in 2022. Unfortunately, this will be my last one as it will take me into retirement, but it will live on with the new owner that buys this truck! Thank you for manufacturing such a good quality product. A+++++
Installed on my Ford F250 Super Duty. Excellent construction, takes about one hour to assemble with just a few tools. Instructions are good, and all parts were in the box. Looks/fits fine on my truck. The rack is about 1" taller than the cab roof. Flat items like ladders, lumber, rigid pipe will clear, but flexible items like PVC or plywood may touch the top of the cab when travelling. I purchased this unit to transport kayaks when we travel on vacation. Canoes/kayaks clear fine if transported right-side up (as they are flat on the bottom) . But I load them upside down for better wind and noise control, and the 'tip' of the boat will just touch the top of the cab. I easily fixed this by getting a few 4"-5" stainless hose clamps at Lowe's, and a piece of 2x4, and clamp that to the front bar. Not a hill for a stepper.
I received my Thule TracRac TracONE ladder rack promptly. It is very nice and installed quite easily into the bed track of my 2020 Tacoma. Hats off to etrailer - they're great. However I would make the following product recommendations to Thule for this rack:
1. There realy need to be tie cleats on the vertical supports on this rack. Cleats would make it so much easier to secure heavy loads.
2. They should offer a accessory piece which provides a flush surface to the tops of the C-clamps that mount into the bed rack. This would make it much easier to mount a tool box over the TracRack mounts and snug the tool box up as far to the front of the bed as possible - leaving more cargo room in the bed. As it is, I either have to fabricate something to do this, or mount the tool box behind the TracRac mounts - needlessly consuming valuable bed space.
Thanks etrailer!
I love this truck rack! I want to give it 4.5 stars but that’s not an option. The reason I’m leaving 4 stars instead of 5 is so that people will read this review for the one critical element that gives it a mark down. The brackets are made specifically for a Toyota Tacoma with the bed rails. The issue is that the bolts used to tighten the rack to the truck are so tightly wedged against the inside bed of the truck that it’s almost impossible to get to them. It’s incredibly easy to strip the head of the bolt because of the angle required to insert a tool to tighten them onto the truck bed.
For context I do not keep this attached to my truck at all times it is only used when I need to utilize the truck rack.
We purchased some ratchet style tools that allow us to put it on faster but that does not prevent the stripping of the head of the bolt used to tighten the brackets.
My recommendation to Thule And or etrailer is to include the necessary tools to attach this to the truck because there is no standard tool that works well. The ratchets that we purchased were maybe $10 each however the hex bit required is still too long even at an inch. If we could find them in half an inch that would be optimal, but my search has so far proven unsuccessful.
With that said it holds the weight limit as indicated and felt super sturdy on a 14 Hour drive loaded with roughly 450 lbs.
The clamps I recieved do not fit the 2025 Tacoma.
With the rails removed from the Tacoma, the clamping pads are too wide to slide into place
Rack was a good fit for my 2016 Chevrolet Colorado and is solidly constructed and easy to install. Expensive but probably worth the money. No problem at all with black powder coating in screw threads, which many other reviewers complain about. I bought the Thule aero rack pads at the same time. They do not fit the rack properly and I’m disappointed that etrailer did not question the order and offer advice.
I will have to say the C clamps screw holes were powder coated. They didn’t cover the holes before they powder coated, and there is eight clamps!! Took me a very long time to get those screws through…
Very happy with this rack. We have 4 different Thule racks on our trucks, and this one is the strongest of the 800 lb racks.
The clamp blocks had to be tapped since the threads were coated with paint. Everything went together as planned. I reccommend using the optional tools for assembly. Using an Allen Wrench was time consuming and difficult since all of the hardware is locking.
Rack is sturdy and well built. Took less than an hour to assemble and install. Maximum height of rack does not clear the top of the cab of a 2016 Ford F-350 SD Crew Cab. If you want to carry a kayak it will require foam blocks or Malone kayak saddles made for the Tracrac(not carried by etrailer). You can not carry a long ladder if used on this vehicle. Over all it is good rack though.
Great looking rack! Needed the special Xsporter clamps for my 2025 tacoma. Perfect fit.
The threaded holes in the clamps were powder coated, This required the thread be cleaned up or chased with a tap before they would accepted the bolts. Once this was done the bolts were accepted flawlessly. Otherwise great product and am pleased with the final outcome.
This rack kit included additional special clamps for Tacoma's track at an additional price, something necessary to install. I was immediately impressed at the quality of the materials and engineering. It was not too difficult to assemble and install, but one should use a torque wrench. In a few cases I needed to chase the threads in the clamps. Tightening the clamps was difficult because the bolt head was too close to the bed wall to use a ratchet and could only use a L shaped hex key - kinda awkward. Once installed, I'm very pleased with it's strength and appearance. I will add that doing business with etrailer was a pleasure from the info on their site to the shipping and communication.
I love the utility. Very easy to secure loads and great capacity. Loses 1 star because the Allen screws used to secure it to the bed are difficult to tighten with a ratchet because they are quite close to the bed liner so the Allen socket ends up misaligned. Also, the pressure of the "clamp" style of mount distorts the composit bed top over time.
1. One of the cross members is miss-drilled causing the end cap to extend past the end of the cross member which is causing a whistling noise as I drive.
2. The clamps for mounting on the Tacoma with bed rail have poor quality control of the tapped holes. I had to force the bolts into the threads stripping the first couple threads.
almost as if the bolts were cross threaded but they were not. it was 6 out of the clamps.
3. Also, tightening the bolt on the clamp causes deformation in the bed rail. An insert to install in the rail would eliminate the deformation. I see this leading to the clamps loosening as the deformation continues.
The overall rack gets a 3 star due to the quality control of the threads and the miss-aligned hole in the cross member.
The clamps get 2 stars as i anticipate the constant maintenance issue with the damage to the rails.
Fantastic experience from ordering to receiving my new Thule Trac Rac system. My package was delivered quickly and without any damage.
The installation instructions were clear and simple to follow. I’m very happy with my new rack system
Product itself is good and as advertised, however, one of the mounting brackets/clamps in the tacoma conversion kit has a screw hole that was machined improperly, making it impossible to use that clamp unless you had the appropriate tools to correct the threading.
Rack is solid state man, it is relatively easy to install, except for the all head bolts that hold the the tacoma rail system , there very close to the skin of the truck bed and torque them in is time consuming, other then that i use it for everything. Thank you
Purchased TracRac for my 2020 f250. I carry a 28 foot ladder every day. So far so good. I would recommend it and would by another if needed.
Outstanding product. Fit was perfect. Easy to install and great customer service and support.
I'm happy with the product, but installation was a bit of a pain. I figured I'd leave a review for others so they don't make the same mistakes I did.
The primary issue is the really long allen-head bolts used to clamp down on the sides of the bed (see picture). They are way longer than they need to be, and leave no room to use a drill driver or socket wrench. For all eight of these bolts, I had to use the short end of an allen wrench and turn these less than a half turn at a time. It took forever. For those doing this installation in the future, I recommend buying much shorter bolts. The kit comes with 3/8"-16 x 3.0" bolts. The bolts could easily be half as long, at 1.5". You'll need 8 of them. If you end up getting hex head bolts rather than allen head, you'll want to make sure the head is as small as possible to allow room for a socket wrench to fit over it and not scrape up the sides of the truck bed.
The other thing that would have made this installation easier is not putting the end caps on until after the the main assembly is mounted on the truck. There's a screw that holds the end caps on and it's difficult to get the holes lined up unless you're under it. The instructions say to do this before mounting it on the truck. I recommend skipping this step and coming back to it as the final step.
I'm otherwise happy with the product and I would recommend it.
Great customer service over the phone, and the gentleman that helped me, James, followed up on the status of the product through shipping and delivery. Would recommend.
Well engineered, entertaining to emplace, and perfect for transporting long pieces of hardwood lumber. etc.
