Does Plastic Bumper Fascia On 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Need To Be Removed Or Trimmed For Hitch Install?

Question:

I’ve heard Subaru bumpers are tight. Do I need to cut into my 2024 Crosstrek’s fascia to install this hitch?

Dylan, no trimming needed here. The Trailer Mate # TMT94FR bolts right to the frame behind your bumper, nothing visible except the 2 inch receiver. The only “extra” step you might face is slightly enlarging the access holes with a die grinder to fishwire the carriage bolts into place. That’s standard on most Crosstrek hitches, along with many other vehicle's hitches.

Do you already have a grinder handy, or should I suggest some alternatives?

And Crosstrek owners reading, did you enlarge your holes or get by without? We've heard of some that didn't need to.
