7-Way Wiring Harness For Installing Redarc Brake Controller On 2023 Toyota Highlander

Updated 12/16/2025 | Published 11/26/2024

Question:

2022 highlander w OEM hitch: Factory 4-pin wiring installed just behind bumper but no 4 pin connector. Verified Toyota PT 725-48201 is their harness to get from from connector in picture to a 4 pin. But 4 pin does me no good. Want to install a Redarc brake controller and 7-pin connector. Do you supply a kit or whatever is need to accomplish this? Thank you in advance! Andy

Hello Andy, thanks for getting in touch. We do offer a 7-way harness for your 2023 Toyota Highlander. Take a look at the Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness # TK57VR. This will plug directly into the OEM 10-pin connector located on the drivers side behind the trim panel near the seat belt bracket. This kit contains all of the wires and components needed to add the 7-way. The plug in your picture is only used for the 4-pin connector.

The only thing worth noting is the # TK57VR comes with an adapter for a Tekonsha brand brake controller. You will need to use the Redarc Tow-Pro Wiring Adapter for Tekonsha Brake Controller Harness part # 331-TPH-017 in order to install your Redarc brake controller.

Hey Andy, how did things go with the Tekonsha 7-way harness and the Redarc wiring adapter on your Highlander? Your results could really help others looking to add a brake controller and 7-way setup to their factory wiring.

@JesseM. We had a U-Haul service center install it. They had some difficulty and it took longer than expected as they had to order an adapter. But the end result was fabulous. It works really well!
