Question:
I unhitched my 21k Demco auto slide at an angle, I’m handicapped and can’t straighten the head back, can you please give me instructions on how to get the fifth wheel back straight. Thanks

Hey Bubba, thanks for reaching out. That really sucks that you had to unhook at an angle because the head is going to be stuck in that position. This is one of the biggest downfalls of the Demco Autoslide hitches and I am sorry to say there is no easy way to move the head back into position aside from being connected to the truck. I have heard of people using stuff like pry bars and a lot of force to move the head back into position. I once had a customer tell me he was able to move it with the help of a friend. You will have to try to hook up at the same angle as when you unhitched or find a couple of strong dudes to help you force it back. I wish I had better news for you, but like I said this is a major downside of the Demco hitch.
