Does Using Gen-Y Capture Plate for Pullrite Hitch Also Require Using Pullrite Capture Plate

Question:

When I initially installed our 2013 PullRite 4100 Superglide slide hitch I distinctly recall the literature not recommending the usage of a lube plate. Well be changing out our pin box to the Gen Y and Im wondering if a lube plate would now be advisable or should I stick with the PullRite recommendation?

You would only need to use the Gen-Y Capture Plate # GY98FR and the filler shim part # GY76FR and would not need to use the current capture plate as well. You'd only need the Gen-Y components with your Pullrite hitch.

You still would not want to use a lube plate. Lube plates are used when there is friction between the pin box mounting plate and fifth wheel hitch head. Since this setup would still have have movement there it still would not be required.
