Question:
Hello, I am looking for a way to wirelessly remote monitor from my vehicle the trailer brake and or bearing temperature. We have a 2970rl grand design travel trailer with tandem axles. We just had a catastrophic bearing failure and lost the brakes and wheel to the point it came off the trailer and rolled into traffic.

Hey there Terry; I'm sorry to hear that, I'm sure that was a very unpleasant experience and I hope everyone is alright. We don't carry anything that allows the monitoring of bearing and brake temperature. The best thing I can offer is to say you should set a schedule and make sure are doing your regular maintenance by repacking and inspecting the bearings. I went ahead and attached a schedule below for your reference.
I'm not sure if you replaced those axles yet or not as we discussed back in September, or if you're going to, but if they are EZ Lube from Dexter or Easy Grease from us you can use the grease zerk on the end to help keep everything maintained and running smoothly. If you have regular axles you might want to add Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors like # BB1980A-SS (fit depends on the hub bore measurement) to help keep water and dirt out that can cause bearing failure.

Thanks. Yeah , I greased them every 2k miles and set brakes also. The shop said the bearings just failed abd had plenty of grease. I'm making my own monitoring system. Thanks again for your reply. I am going to upgrade the axles and brakes but next year.
