Bike Rack for 2 Lectric XP 3.0 Bikes on 2019 Winnebago Intent Model 29L Towing 2019 Chevy Equinox

Updated 12/16/2025 | Published 11/01/2024

Question:

I need to carry 2 Lectric XP 3.0 eBikes 65 lbs each behind my motor home while towing, but Im concerned about the turn ratio and not damaging the bikes on a tight turn. I have a 2019 Winnebago Intent Model 29L towing a 2019 Chevy Equinox using a Blue Ox BX 7365 Alpha Tow Bar with a 2inch Receiver. Any assistance is appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Edward; for a bike rack I recommend the 2019 Winnebago Intent Model 29L # HLY84FR. This is rated for motorhome use and has a capacity of 80 lbs per bike. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the farthest part of the rack is 27-1/2" so you can use that to get a good idea if clearance will be an issue. That distance is as good as it gets for a bike rack that can handle your 65 lb Lectric bikes. We don't have an exact way to know if anything will hit on tight turns so the best thing you can do is mock it up and measure.

You will also need a dual hitch adapter so if you want to raise it up higher to clear, something like the # RM-077-10 has a 10" rise to get it up and out of the way. The right adapter will depend on your setup since you still need to keep your tow bar level. I went ahead and attached a link to all of our available dual hitch adapters below for your reference.

If you're having a hard time finding one that keeps you level, you can also use the Replacement Shank for Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount # 325-GH-505. This will allow you to mount the bike rack in the top receiver in the rise position for clearance and use your current high/low adapter in the bottom receiver keeping everything level like it is right now.

Hey Edward, how did things go with the Hollywood Sport Rider rack and the dual hitch adapter on your Winnebago and Equinox setup? Were you able to get enough clearance on tight turns without the bikes getting too close? Your update could make it easier for others towing with a similar setup.

Everything worked perfectly once I purchased a 12'' Hitch Extension/Extender. Without the extender I would not have been able to take tight turns but with it I had no problem. The rack and adapter worked great. Once everything was installed, I took everything out to an open parking lot and made several tight U-turns with no contact at all between the vehicles and the bicycle's.
