Question:

Hey! I have a 2022 Aliner ranger 12 camper, and it didn’t come with a spare. It currently has LT235/75R15 tires on an offroad looking rim. I was wondering if I could get a cheaper spare? It would simply be used to take it to a service center to repair the current tires that are on it, doesn’t have to be a full offroad spare. Could that work? And if so, what do you recommend?

Hell Caleb, thanks for reaching out. So it is quite common for people to use a more affordable standard wheel for the spare. I actually spoke with a gentleman just the other day who has purchased a nicer upgraded wheel for the spare without thinking, only to realize his spare tire carrier put a bunch of scuffs and scratches on the rim.

What I recommend is a simple steel wheel for the spare. Take a look at the Taskmaster ST235/75R15 Radial Off-Road Tire w/ 15" Vesper White Mod Wheel # TA25RR. This wheel has the 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern and this is our least expensive tire/wheel combo in this size. We also have it in a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern, part # KE78JR if that is what you need.
