EcoHitch For 2024 Mercedes Benz EQS 580 SUV And Recommended Installer

Updated 04/03/2025 | Published 10/30/2024

Question:

I am interested in EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2 Part Number: EH94CR for 2024 Mercedes Benz EQS 580 SUV. This is to add a e-bike rack. Your spec states that its maximum tongue weight is 350lb. Does this mean that this part weighs 350lb? That seems very heavy addition to an EV. Is there an installer near zip code 94708 area that you recommend? Thank you.

Hello Eric, thanks for reaching out. The EcoHitch # EH94CR is the correct hitch for the 2024 Mercedes Benz EQS 580 SUV. The 350 lb tongue weight is the weight rating of the hitch. Meaning it can handle up to 350 lbs of tongue weight. In your case, the tongue weight would be the weight of your bike rack plus the weight of your bikes. This should be plenty of capacity for a bike rack and a few e-bikes.

The actual lifting weight of the hitch itself is 40 lbs.

We do have a few installers near you. I recommend checking with Outlander Motorsports in Martinez, or with E's Auto Service And Repair in Moraga. Both of them do hitch installs. The link below will show you our installer locator. You can enter your zip code and see the full list of installers in your area.

Thank you for your reply. Can I buy the part from the installer or Amazon, or only directly from you?

@Eric You can buy directly from us! No need to go to the jungle website or any other installer. We can ship directly to your home or wherever else you want. Right now we are offering free shipping on orders over $99 so you will not need to pay shipping going to you in CA. Just add the # EH94CR to your cart and go thru checkout.

I am thinking of installing this on my 2023 EQS 580 SUV. The car has a sensor for kick trunk liftgate. Would this impact that feature or operation?

@Hugh With the receiver installed the hitch may partially block the sensor. In most cases all you have to do is wave your foot on either side of the receiver to activate the sensor. With the receiver removed, the sensor will work normally.
