Which Android OS is Required for One Control App for Curt Echo

Question:

I have a One control Auto app on a Galaxy 20+ running Android 13, and an Echo controller. In the app it says Android 14 or greater. Is there a work around this?

Hi Jack; I'm looking at it in the Google Play Store right now and it says there is updated support for Android 14. However, that is not what is required. The current version lists the Required OS as "Android 9 and up" under app info.

Thanks Robin, Under the Custom-Designed App portion it says *IOS 9 or higher required, Android 14 or higher required. I'm wondering if this is why the Echo does not apply brakes when pedal is used.

@JackG are you moving when the brake pedal is pressed? It is a proportional controller so if you press the brakes while stationary they won't activate. You would have to use the manual override. I have an S22 Ultra with Android 13 and it works for me.

Thanks Robin, I really appreciate you taking the time with this. Yes when moving the trailer brakes do not apply when pressing the pedal. I have been using the app to use the trailer brake. When the Echo is hooked up I don't get a RR brake light, but it works when the Echo is removed. All connections have been cleaned. Any ideas?

@JackG I'm not sure what is causing that problem. What I would do is call Curt at 877.287.8634 since they can help you actively troubleshoot over the phone while you're standing at the trailer. Their technical support is really helpful so they can sort it out or determine if it should be replaced under the limited lifetime warranty.
