Trailer Brake Controller Options for a 2023 Chevy Traverse with Tow Package

Question:

I am purchasing a 2023 Chevy Traverse with tow package. I see all brake controllers for this vehicle on your website say “ no tow package “ . Other than wireless, what are my options for an electric brake controller?

I do have some options for you but there isn't a plug under the dash for a trailer brake controller on a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse. Therefore, if you want to use a traditional dash mounted trailer brake controller you must hardwire which requires splicing into wires on the vehicle. However, if you go with a wireless trailer brake controller which is what I recommend, there is no splicing. I have attached options for both below.

Wireless (Recommended):

- T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector part # 118287
- Mounting Bracket and Installation Hardware part # PK12711U
- Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller part # C51180

Hardwire:

- T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector part # 118287
- Mounting Bracket and Installation Hardware part # PK12711U
- Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller part # RED52VR

If you do have the tow package then the wires for the brake controller which you'll splice into should be located under the carpet near where your left foot would be on the driver side.
