Option For Brakes to Replace UFP on Boat Trailer

Updated 12/23/2025 | Published 10/08/2024

Question:

I have a 2000 EZ Loader dual axle boat trailer for a 20foot bass boat. I swapped out the drum brakes years ago with UFP disc brakes and replaced the surge brake Actuator. I noticed my disc brakes not releasing as they should and was attempting to rebuild calipers only to find I cannot find rebuild kits. Will this product suffice to rebuild my calipers?

Hi Irving,

Unfortunately not as that rebuild kit is for Kodiak calipers and they can't be mixed and matched. Since UFP is no longer in business, the best I can offer is a replacement brake setup. If you have a pair of 3,500 lb axles, what you can use is the Dexter Premier Disc Brake Kit # T2HRCM10DAC.

If you don't have 3,500 lb axles, I have added a link below to our entire selection of disc brakes for you to sort through, which you can do by axle size, or you can let me know and I can try and find the right kit for you.

Hey Irving, did you end up going with the Dexter Premier disc brake kit for your trailer? Knowing how that setup worked could help others replacing older UFP brakes. Your update could make it easier for the next person with the same issue.

@JesseM Yes, I went with the Dexter brakes and they are preforming perfectly. Replaced calipers and bleed lines. Working fine now. Would definitely recommend this product.
