Question:

My trailer has a 7 3/4inch eye to eye equalizer and 3 1/4 inch shackle straps i want to to the dexter ez flex K71-655-00 kit are the shackle straps too short

Hi Brandon; the Dexter E-Z Flex Equalizers # K71-655-00 will work with your 3-1/4" shackle straps. It is also the perfect size for your trailer since it has the same 7-3/4" measurement. The kit only comes with the equalizers so there are no shackles straps with it that wouldn't match.

If you're wanting to upgrade to heavy duty shackles and wet bolts you can use the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers # MR76ZR. This has 3-1/8" long shackle straps which is probably what you actually have now. Even if it was off by 1/8" it wouldn't impact the performance of the suspension.

How does the moryde kit compare to the dexter ez flex and would i be okay with the 2 1/4 " shackle straps and yeah i meant the K71-653-000 originally

@BrandonW the wet bolts and heavy duty shackles from the MORryde kit are comparable to the Dexter. If you had said you wanted the K71-653-00 I actually would have redirected you to the K71-655-00 and offered the MORryde kit. You want to keep the same shackle strap length. If you switch from 3-1/4" or 3-1/8" to the 2-1/4" you're asking for a problem since the size difference is a lot and it will throw off the geometry of the suspension.
