Question:
Hi, I have this water heater located in the rear of my Class B 2022 Ram Promaster 2500. My son insists that I operate it only with the rear door open. This is a problem depending on where I’m parked when I want to use the shower. I don’t fill comfortable with the door open u less I’m in a secure location. The propane tank is in a vented wooden box directly aside of it. So, must the door be opened to use it? Thanks.

Hello Mitzi; the rear door of your ProMaster does not need to be open when using the Excel RV Tankless Water Heater # EX93FR. Extra air flow isn't a bad idea but this has a vent-free design with an ODS (Oxygen Depletion Safety) shutoff device that detects low levels of oxygen. If you don't have good ventilation and oxygen levels drop below 18 percent, the flame extinguishes, and the fuel supply is cut off.
I suppose you may find out the ventilation level isn't good enough and it shuts off but there is no danger. If you would like additional air flow you could always add some small vents like the # MA00-03812B or # MA00-03810B. These work really well with Class B motorhomes like yours.
